BLAZES

High School Theater, Dance, Acting and Vocal Training in Loudoun County

Blazes (Grades 8–12)

Where Dedicated Performers Rise

The Blazes Program is Ignite the Light Performing Arts’ premier, audition-based production company for students in 8th through 12th grade who are ready to take their training to the next level.

Whether your performer has years of theatre experience or is ready to challenge themselves in a more advanced production environment, Blazes offers rigorous artistic training while continuing to foster the supportive, encouraging community that Ignite is known for.

Students work together to produce high-quality musical theatre productions while strengthening their acting, singing, dancing, and storytelling skills. They learn the discipline, commitment, and professionalism expected in the performing arts, all while building confidence, leadership, resilience, and lifelong friendships.

At Ignite, we believe the lessons learned in the theatre extend far beyond the stage. Every rehearsal is an opportunity to grow as both an artist and a person because our mission is simple:

to create great humans who are great performers.

Continue the Journey

Productions are just one part of becoming a well-rounded performer. Many of our Blazes students choose to continue their training through weekly classes that strengthen every area of performance and prepare them for future opportunities.

We recommend pairing Blazes with:

  • Advanced Musical Theatre Dance – A class designed specifically for our advanced performers, focusing on the choreography styles, performance quality, and audition skills needed for musical theatre.
  • Tap – Improve rhythm, speed, precision, and versatility.
  • Jazz – Build strength, flexibility, turns, leaps, and dynamic performance skills.
  • Ballet – Develop the technical foundation, alignment, and control that every performer needs.
  • Hip-Hop & Industry Dance – Explore commercial dance styles while increasing versatility and confidence.
  • Acting Classes – Dive deeper into character development, scene study, script analysis, and audition technique.
  • Voice Lessons & Vocal Classes – Strengthen healthy vocal technique, musicianship, range, stamina, and solo performance skills.
  • Acting Through Song – Learn to combine vocal performance with truthful acting to become a compelling storyteller.

Together, these classes create a complete training program that prepares performers for auditions, college musical theatre programs, professional opportunities, and performances beyond the Ignite stage.

Whether your goal is to perform professionally, pursue theatre in college, or simply be part of an incredible company of passionate performers, Blazes is a place to be challenged, inspired, and transformed. Here, you’ll build lifelong friendships, discover your full potential, and continue growing into the performer—and person—you were created to be.
